Is it ok to let someone use your internet connection and password when they come to your home to do a presentation on their own PC?

Or is it a bit risky?

Probably no problems, other than using your wi-fi.

Rather be safe than sorry though.

The admin username & password allows you to read/change things on that modem administration page. The default one, if it uses one, will be in your modem manual. Quite likely something simple like admin & password.

From there you can change many things, may have many pages of things you may wish to change. One will be the password that the wireless devices need to pass in order to connect to the modem.

Clearly the two gives access to different things.
