Talk Talk Mobile
I have a talk talk mobile with internet access. I can make calls and get emails, but every time I try to access the internet I get a message saying internet not available. I then get a screen saying I am connection to BT WiFi Fon, and I cannot find any way of getting rid of this. I have tried going into settings and selecting Vodaphone (who talk talk use for internet) and have taken the sim card out and replaced it (as suggested by talk talk customer services). However I still get the BT Wifi Fon screen and wanting me to pay for internet access. Any ideas before I flush it down the bog?

Is it just a mobile you have ?
If so you won't necessarily have a router.
The mobile should be set up to allow data access via the talktalk network (Vodafone I believe). In which case you need to switch data on in the mobile settings and start to pay for data (or use up whatever allowance you have).
WiFi is a different way to connect to the net and then it goes through a router. But you must either have your router in signal distance, in which case you should know it's password, or you need to find a free WiFi somewhere public which may or may not need a password. If you do then the cafe, pub, or whatever would probably give you one; or maybe you can to give details such as an e-mail account to get free access. Whatever.

Got rid of the BT wifi Fon page (thanks for that) now saying 'registered on network' (Vodaphone) but still not getting any internet access. Its nothing to do with router as I use it all the time away from home normally - I pay a monthly fee to talk talk which includes data as well as the phone. Will try later when away from home.
Your normal phone functions will be connected to the Vodafone network. Data has to be switched on separately in the phone settings somewhere. Check the handset manual/user guide.
(Mine is left permanently off because a single contact during the day charges me a day's worth of data access and I don't want that. I only use WiFi.)
