Phishin Scam Report

Hi, just had the great good fortune to receive an email from "Paypal" informing me of a case being opened and providing a link to click on.
I marked the whole thing as a phishing scam, clicked on the appropriate button and as usual it disappeared from my inbox.
As has happened before it wasn't transported to a special section of Outlook dealing with scams but plonked into the 'deleted' file with all the other dross that floods in every day.

The question (finally): Does the phishing report flag the email with Microsoft (I got a thanks for reporting) or is it just more window dressing and nothing really happens at all?

Ta. :-)

With Paypal scams you can also forward them to [email protected] (or .com) and they will do something about it.

Thanks John.
I' not sure they do anything in practice- they probably just like to keep abreast of what scams are happening and they may be able to stop a tiny minority, but in the main they are helpless as spammers can generate so many email addresses, mask IPs and move money around so quickly noone can stop them
think I meant scammers not spammers
or scamming spammers ...

Thanks FF.
Did as John suggested and forwarded it to Paypal who have at least acknowledged receipt.
I don't expect the FBI to go kicking in doors, just wondered if it actually went any further than my computer if I didn't send it on to the named company but only used the 'phishing scam' button on Outlook.

Not ignoring anybody from here on, just off to work.

Have a great day. :-)
