wireless problems with mac

I have just moved into a place with wireless broadband connection. All the computers in the house are windows machines, I have a G5 iMac. when I tried to connect to the internet via my inbuilt airport it recognised the wireless account (and the next door neighbours!) but even after entering the password it would not let me connect. I admit I am absolutely clueless as to what is going on so any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers

What password are you entering? There tends to be either a plain text one (just some english word or something), or a hex one (sometihng like a3f634b5 etc.)
You may need to change the password to a more appropriate length, as here:

This is due to the WEP design: this stuff wasn't specified! WPA is far better.
