It has been over a year now since I attempted to print a photo or two. When I transfer photo's to the computer, they go to Picasa2, a suite a prefer. I have a few others on my comp, all freebies, but they might as well be removed. Anyway, within picasa, there are a number of pics that with a bit of cropping and enlarging, might be usefull for family etc.

However after preparing an ideal pic for printing, I waste an a4 sheet with the one pic. Ideally I'd like to be able to somehow lift them and arrange several on one sheet. Is this something I can do on a free editing suite and if so, can it be done easily.

Yes, assuming that you are running XP, you can do it with the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, which is included in XP.

Typical of me, I failed to include information. I am still on windows '98 SE
You can do it thru WORD, open word goto page setup delete all margins insert Pic from file, double click pic, set size say 6.5cms,retain proportions, this gives you 18 on A4.Move cursor by spacebar to set for next insert.Once you have this setup use as template.
For 8 on A4 set pic size to 9.5cms

Solera, I have just attempted to follow your instrauction and fell at the first fence. I went to word and searched for "page set-up" in vain. Hopefully you or someone else will identify this, and assuming I get to the end of the instructions, After I've clicked my way through, will I have to re-tread my footsteps in order that I can then use word for word processing?.
Page setup is usually found under the file menu
