Internet freezing
For the last couple of months my internet keeps 'freezing' every time I'm on-line, sometimes after 5 minutes sometimes 30. It doesn't matter what web site I'm on.
When it freezes I can't do anything and have to re-boot my computer.
I have had my computer checked out and have been told everthing is fine. they also checked my software and said everything was fine.
My internet provider sent me a new modem, in case there was a fault there.
No-one seems to know why it is doing this. It is getting beyond a joke.
Does anyone out there in AB land have any ideas?
Until I know what the problem is I don't see any point changing supplier as I could still have the same problem.
I don't know how long I can stay on-line for so thanks in advance!!!

I went to a shop and the person recommended fitting another fan which he did and this cured the problem. I know its early March but overheating might be worth investigating. Just a thought Chris

Hi there, I think I might have an idea.
A year or so ago I started getting the exact same problems with my computer. I use a router, and I tried a direct connection from the broadband line to the computer and it didn't help and so that led me to think it was a problem with my modem.
I'm with telewest, or Virgin Media as it's now known, so when I phoned up the tech support line, I was tole to open up my web browser and in the address line, enter in an ip code, something like 190.40.683.27 and it took me to my modem diagnostics page, where it turned out my download frequency was different from what it should have been.
It was easily corrected and it just recently did it again, same problem, same solution.
That might be your problem.
