Have had sky 8 mb at only 5 a month now for about 4 months and its fairly ok must admit its about the best of the bunch that I have been with before, but still has its niggly little points.
And as for tiscali well all I can say about them and a lot of people on here will agree that they are by far the most worst incompatent idiots that I have ever come across in my life...... and there service was mainly on par with old dial up 75% of the time
I would not trust sky either m8. I use virgin media ( used to be telewest broadband ). I get 10 meg for 35.00 per month and in May it is getting up graded to 20 meg for free. No problems with it, always super fast and no downtime.
The netgear DG843 GT router has been flashed with their own firmware that is useless and you WILL get disconnected if your noise margin drops below 5.5Db.
i have Sky BB on the max package and on a 4.5mb line with the marketed 16Mb i get only 2Mb. They quite often place caps on the download for testing purposes and "forget" to remove them and then you have a 5 day wait to get Tier 3 support to set it right. Dont take my word for it visit

The broadband help section should confirm what i'm talking about. Plus you are set to interleaving be default so if you are a gamer then forget gamin anymore because interleaving shoots your ping up by at least 40ms.
You have been warned!!
Good luck.
Bethere.co.uk have been bought over by 02 and can provide a 24Mbps BB connection for 14 a month, might be worth checking it out.
