New website idea

I've got a great idea for a website but haven't a clue what to do next. How do I build it and how do I stop people from nicking the idea? Any advice gratefully received.

To answer your second question, you cannot patent an idea for a website.

The minute you put it on the internet, if it is good, then someone will copy it.

Building a web site is fairly easy.

Building is GOOD web site is very difficult.

If you have never done it before then I suggest you get someone in to do it for you as there is a long learnig curve to build a decent web site.

It's very difficult to protect your site/Idea from being getting stolen, once you get your site online and if the site's theme is quite impressive then anybody who have access to internet can copy it.
You can have copyright for your contents and images if you want to protect it getting stolen but you cannot protect your theme/idea from getting stolen.
