I sold some stuff on Ebay, the bidding ended on Sunday at 8pm. The person that bought the items is yet to pay, even after sending him an invoice and email.

I know its only 2 days, but im starting to worry abit. Another person bidded but lost out, and I have a chance to offer Second Chance, but I think I have to wait 7 days?

What do you suggest

I would wait 7 days...2 days isn't long at all, and unless you choose the 'immediate payment required' box on your auction listing I don't think you can expect a tremendously quick payment ;o)

I would definately allow time for the postal service to deliver a cheque to you. Is your auction paypal only? as a seller I always ask for contact (not payment) within 3 days, and payment within 10.

Hope you have a good buyer and you receive payment soon!
eBay terms allow up to 7 days to receive payment, so don't worry yet.

I wouldn't bother with the second chance offer if you don't receive payment. Just file a non-paying bidder report to reclaim your final value fees and relist.

Dont panic rule of thumb unless you state otherwise is payment within 7 days

cool, thanks guys. I will wait 7 days. Just as an aside, I stated paypal only.

Its just strange that I have received no response to my emails.
There could be any number of reasons, on holiday or more likely just hasnt been onto ebay for a day or two, not everyone does!

Or computer/connection problems.

I have had that problem on several occasions..especailly as I am with NTL (Virgin)!

Some buyers just aren't into the friendly email/contact thing.
Howdy Pippa ;-)
Just to make it perfectly clear - your own terms and conditions must abide by eBays. Even if you state 'payment must be received within three days' this is meaningless as eBay gives every buyer 7 days to pay.
Howdy Rev :o)

Ethel ~ I always wondered about that. I thought expecting payment within 3 days was a bit too much to expect..especailly if the seller won't/can't accept paypal!
Ethel just as an aside, if I buy something off ebay and when it arrives it clearly does not match the pic that was displayed am I entitled to a full refund plus the postage I have had to pay for to return it?
Reverandfunk - the buyer should NEVER be out of pocket in the circumstances you describe - all associated costs should be refunded.

If the buyer simply doesn't like it, or it doesn't fit, then he should expect the actual item cost ONLY to be refunded if the seller agrees to refund.

This applies only where the seller is not a business. If the seller is a business and the goods were sold on a Buy It Now format, the Distance Selling Regs kick in. This gives any non-business buyer the right to return the goods for any reason and get a full refund including postage costs. It is not clear if return postage should also be refunded in these circumstances. Of course if the goods are faulty or not as described then all postage must be refunded.

These Regs do not apply to goods sold by auction listing format.

Thanks Ethel I bought a one armed bandit that arrived as a no arm bandit lol
At least he's armless.

Boom boom!
