attachments

When I click on an attachment I get a box saying no virus threat has been detected and then a choice of downloading it or canceling it ,I assume this means its been checked for viruses while still on the internet service providers servers,giving me a chance to reject it before it gets to my pc ,only I have aways been told to save it then scan it before opening it ,all the best
