Slow Broadband

Have recently been given upgrade FOC up to 8 mbps on Tiscali but still as was before only getting between 750 kbs and 1.1mbps at best. been told its the distance I am from the exchange used to get 2.2 mbps at my old adress. Anyway tried a little experiment connected up modem to my laptop instead of my home PC and it was showing 1.6 Mbps anybody can explain why this should be. Both home PC and Laptop Dell by the way Many Thanks

Need to get your phone line and broadband connection checked jg96

Call Tiscali Helpdesk and tell them there is a problem, "And it looks like it is on their end."

That should get their attention. But be insistent that they check your connection and tell you what they discover.

It may be you need a different router/modem
