isp - aol (ahhh)
Our ISP is AOL - never againso want to change.How do we go about it? Can we give them notice or can we do it staight away. Trying to ring them is a nightmare.
We are supposed to have broadband but more like an elastic band with no elasticity. Who would you suggest as an alternative?

It depends on what contract you took out with them, but its usually a months notice.
As for a new ISP; do you want a package deal, like phone, broadband, Sky etc or just broadband.
There's lots of deals going on at the moment with different company's.
I have Virgin media (cable), 2mg broadband, satellite TV + Sky sports, including free Setanta sports and free weekend and evening calls, for �46.00 a month.
If you want the movie channels it will be extra.

Keep in mind that althouh AOL are your current ISP if you change to another one you wil still be getting your broadband down the same phone line and from the same exchange and these are controlled by BT not the ISP, BT simply sell the service on to the ISP who then sell it to you so you are unlikely to see any increase in speed just by simply swapping ISP's
