I have Spybot on my PC, and last time I installed I chose to have the option to monitor and allow or deny changes. I thought it would be a good thing, but I have had my doubts at times since doing that, and I wish I could get rid.

Anyway, the thing with that is that you sometimes don't know whether to allow or deny, so you click the one you think is best, and then find out it wasn't.

Earlier tonight I guess I must have clicked the wrong one, and ever since then when I open IE, my home page (which is still the default home page according to settings) is not the first page to appear. Instead it is a microsoft page, and I have to select my homepage from the toolbar/

My system recovery is kaput anyway (I think something turned it off ages ago and I never noticed at the time) and my spybot recovery doesn't seem to work either,

Anyone any ideas how I can get rid of this first page, and instead go straight to my home page as I used to?

Open your home page.

Click 'tools' at the top right of the page - internet options.

Under general tab, select 'use current' and 'ok'.

System restore.

Start - control panel - performance and maintenance - system restore

Now click 'sytem restore settings' and tick 'turn on'. Click Apply and Ok.
Sorry, I wasn't too clear in the first sentence.

Open the page you want to be your home page...

As I said, my homepage is still the current one in settings, but it doesn't go there.

My restore is kaput - I have tried in the past to get it back using the help options but to no avail. I don't have a performance and maintenance option, so can't use that.

Anyone else got any ideas?
