how to set up a laptop

Ok i have a pc with wireless talktalkbroadband , im getting my son a laptop and want the internet on that aswell, how do i get that to have all the internet access? new to computers!

He will need to turn the wifi on, on the laptop - where it is depends on the model.

The laptop will pick up the wireless signal and he will be prompted to enter a key (password) to connect. If you haven't set the key yourself, it will either be on the bottom of the modem router or in the talktalk paperwork.

Hopefully it will be as simple as that.

Hi there the laptop is a acer aspire mpasp 5715, ok thanks i will try that.

My Acer Aspire has two LED lights on the front, next to the headphone sockets.

The right one is the Wifi switch. You have to press it firmly

THANKYOU very much, update on this -after about 30 minutes on the phone to talk talk in god know were they transfered me to a english call centre who after only 5 mins got me up and running and im now laptop enabled!!!!
