Ping Noises.....

I keep hearing little *ping noises* on my pc - a bit like a rifle shot, at random times. I've got firewall, virus protection, anti-spyware, spam blocker, etc etc - could it be the firewall telling me it has deflected some nasty bug ?

AOL's allow users to announce their arrival online with a choice of sounds - creaking doors, bangs, jingles and so on.

Start/Control panel/ Sounds and Audio devices and you can try all the sounds allocated on your computer to various tasks including MSN.

Nice one Wildwood - that has really solved it ! Apparently it was the *closing of a door* sound (hehe) made when an AOL buddy left .....

Now, although I'm on AOL, I don't think I've got any buddies.....
