How do I send an e-mail to someone without revealing my own e-mail address?
It's very important that the recipient doesn't know the senders identification!

and karmgirl - it depends on the level of internet security your office has. some can trace what you've been doing.

OK MiniN- so how do I set up a fake e-mail address that no one can trace??? Reason I'm asking this...I'm going to drop some MASSIVE company in the ****,BIG TIME!!
But only if I CAN NOT be traced , as I have an idea that various methods can be used to 'back-track' and find the origins of the sender??
If I'm not satisfied I won't send it.

You can just set up a new email address . for instance if yours is Hotmail use Yahoo & send it from a public computer .It's the IP address of your computer you need to worry about not so much the email address that you use .
Or alternatively you could use an old fashioned letter I guess .

If you send an email from your own account it's possible to fake the apparent address but anyone clicking on 'Properties' will still see where it's come from.

If you set up a new email address with, say, Gawab and then use it to send e-mail relating to (for example) terrorism, the security services in this country would have to get their colleagues in Egypt (where Gawab is based) to serve a court order on Gawab to identify which UK ISP the mail came from. The UK security services would then have to serve a court order on your ISP to get them to identify you. So, as you state, it is possible to 'back-track' emails. However, it can only be done through international cooperation and court orders. (Even then, if you sent the mail from an internet caf�, it would still be very difficult to trace you). As long as your intentions aren't of a nature that would warrant such an investigation, you can use services like Gawab (or Hushmail or Hotmail or Yahoo or thousands of others) with complete anonymity.

2) Sign up for an email account at somewhere like gmail.com or hotmail.com.

3) Send your mail.
