Though agree with you on other part, only time I have come across removed vids on youtube they are either slightly dodgy or breach copyright in some way so get removed

It's copyright. The copyright owners demand that YouTube remove their material.
As they have been successfully prosecuted and fined literally billions of dollars, they comply.

But people upload more videos that can be moderated, so they reappear. And get removed again. And on and on.
