Occasionally I contact this site from another Mac. On yesterdays bloggs I was on the Mac at a different location.

I was horrified to discover my details etc on t'other Mac and tried to get it off......without success?

What can I do to prevent others using the Mac from reading my missives and replying on my behalf?

Dunno .
but i thot mac users was suposed to be bright ?
How were your details on the Mac? Not of my AB details are on any computer - AnswerBank is web-based, and the details are stored on its site, accessible from any computer as long as you know the log in details.

Or do you mean something else?

I was on the Mac (it talks) it said I had an email. Went to the email and all opened up. I cleared the History on the Mac & my registration to get 'terambulan' off but I remained there?

Y r Mac seen as superior gizmos Legend, they seem more limited to me. Even the delete button only deletes as 'backspace'. The pixels r better. Can't enlarge print with Ctrl+.....give me Ms XP; much easier!
I am struggling to understand the problem.

Do you mean when you signed in to AB you didn't need to type your log in details because it was stored on the Mac?

Why would you need to register 'terambulan' yesterday when you have been using it for such a long time?

That's it Ethel......my details were on the Mac (not my private gizmo) and I didn't sign in as I couldn't recall my password.
But was you able to sign in with the stored details?

Have you used that Mac before?

Have used the Mac before.....my emails can't be accessed by other due to password. But Ab was on History and gave direct access to all on that Mac.

Did email the editor but they said they didn't understand.

All I can hope for is to delete History everytime I leave the Mac.

The editor can't do anything about it - it will be in stored passwords or something like that on the Mac.

You can solve this very easily by changing the password
In the Safari Browser (I am assuming you are using that) delete History (in the History tab) and delete cache under the Safari tab. In future, use 'Private Browsing' to prevent anyone seeing how you have been using the computer.
hit the mack with a fourteen pound hammer . ( problem solved )

he he ;-)) it's such a larf on here......my colleagues would be shocked at some of my missives.
You mean that you need to press the 'sign out' link at the top-left of the AB website, after using it?
Just change the password

On the Mac, which I don't use often but occasionally am obliged to use it, I have to remember to clear the History else next person on can klik where I left off and access whole Ab site and have fun/mischief.....in my name
Ethel has got it right, change your AB password. That is held in the AB database on the AB server, not on your local Mac/pc. Go into your profile, change your password, and the problem has gone.
In Safari click on Private Browsing. It does not leave any History or cached files. And has has been pointed out, if you sign off instead of just shutting the browser, no one can post under your name unless they have your password.
