Basically it's a security problem... you can connect to the wireless router but without the security set up they won't talk to each other.
disconnect and reconnect and it should prompt you for a security key or pass phrass... which may be on a sticker on your router (if your lucky) type that in and all should be good.
Why are you connecting a desktop PC by wireless anyhow.... wireless is a bit ropey at the best of times and your not going to be walking about the house with a desktop so use wired if at all possible.

on your laptop that is connected ok click on the link below
http://192.168.1.1
This should take you to the login page for your router, login with the following
username: admin
Password: password
once logged in look on the left hand side for the link to wireless setting and click on it
towards the bottom of this page you will see your network key, make a not of this.
Now go to the PC and open your wireless network list, disconnect from the wireless network and then reconnect, when it asks for the key put in the one you have made a note of and click connect.

you did use your laptop didn't you?
if it was on the laptop then still on the laptop click start > run and type in cmd and hit enter
then in the black window that comes up type ipconfig and hit enter. Make a note of the number next to default gateway.
Then open a web browser and just type that number into the address bar and hit enter.
