My 3 month old Acer Aspire 5920 laptop has started flickering on the screen quite wildly every so often. I will be sending it back for repair but why is this happening...anyone?

Think the light is on the way out.....probably needs a new chip. Happened to me and the lappy died completely!

Thanks v much, will get it sorted.
yes that's what it is, it needs a new chip and plenty of tomato sauce too!!!

or for a slightly more technical reason/answer.

it is probably just a bad connection between the backlight tube and the inverter that supplies power to the tube. It probably doesn't need any new parts just taking to bits and re assembling it would more than likely sort it out.

At worst it may be a faulty inverter which will need replacing, but as it is under warranty don't worry about it, just send it back wait a short while until you get it back all healthy and working.
