Sorry if I sound tetchy, it's because I am!!!!

So I've unistalled Firefox. Now when I type an address into IE I get a small box come up that has a cross in it and the words, 'Application Not Found'.
As bbc.co.uk is my home page, if I type an address into their search bar and tick the box to search the web, that seems to be working - at the moment.
Please can somebody help. I'm getting really frustrated Grrrr!!!!

goto control panel and then internt options select the program tab and click on the make default button to make internet explorer the default.

Then load IE, goto tools > internet options click on the advanced tab and then click on reset at the bottom to reset all IE settings to default too

Thanks.
I've done that and nothing has changed.
Even though I have this web page up - so that I can ask for help - If I go to the address bar and type an address, I get that same little box with 'Application Not Found'.
Did you by any chance at some point install IE7 and roll back to 6? Or maybe IE8 Beta and roll back to 7 or 6?
