Thanks again Hilly but it's sending me around in circles! I don't want to delete MSN as my daughter uses it but my son has a virus on his account that keeps sending out porn, so I need to delete his profile so he can start again.
MSN accounts do not get viruses. your son has entered his MSN login details into a site that claims to tell you who has blocked you, or something similar. the sites then use your sons details to access his account and send spam using it.
thank youChuck. his msn (and his friends') sends porn links as IM, not emails, even when he's not online. would changing his password stop this happening?
Yes it would as the spammers won't be able to access their accounts. As Chuck says, they have been stupid enough to enter their details in sites like this:
I created that as an experiment to show people how easy it was to trick people and soon got 8 genuine msn logins and passwords. Naturally, I didn't do anything with them but informed the user how stupid they had been.
Advise your son NEVER to enter details in sites like the one above and to tell his contacts.
anyway, my son was receiving IM messages like, "(his name), there are photos of you here", he clicked on the link and it was porn, and now his IM sends out porn constantly by the same method. it's happened to lots of his friends and at school it seems to be known as a virus.
I'm pretty sure he didn't give out his log in details.
