Why is incorrectly addressed email coming to me?

Here is the problem-I'm not giving my real email address but it is similar to [email protected].

I am getting spam email addressed to [email protected] and arthurbloggs.ntlworld.com -how is it reaching my inbox when it isn't addressed to joe.soap?

What can I do to stop it, clealry blocking sender isn't working.

Exactly right. No spammer will give out their hard earned spam list for someone else to grab, so they pick one name from it to mail to then BCC the rest of you. You won't get off it.
