Internet security has run out

hi there i was with Mc Afee 4 a year and it has just run out I cannot afford to repurchase right now is there a free software that anyone would recommend from a reliable source which will actively monitor my computer. I have had spy bot in the past but not right now, I currently have ad-aware/watch but that seems to not actively watch unless you upgrade

Both spy bot and adaware are not anti virus programs, they are anti spyware.

Make sure you fully remove mcafee before installing another AV program.

You can install AVG for free - it has been good for me. - I was with McAfee and another but my friend's son who is a whizz kid re computers has all his computers and mine with AVG - Good luck. bye

By the way, McAfee make it difficult for you to uninstall there software, which is one reason I would never install McAfee.

If you have problems uninstalling it, download and run the 'McAfee Consumer product Removal Tool':
