Google Chrome - narrow theme?

I usually use Firefox, and the combination of the Littlefox theme, small icons in the navigation toolbar and a general XP setting for a narrow titlebar means that the display area for a webpage is noticeably larger than default.

Because of a recent problem (hopefully now fixed) I've been using Chrome a bit more, and one aspect of it that always strikes me is how broad (as in height) both the navigation toolbar and the tabs are.

There don't seem to be an options setting for this and there is no title bar so does anyone know of a theme (or a tweak) to make them narrower? I've tried searching without success so far.
