Google Street View - ring icon and troll

I was moving around Google street view near where I live and
on one street there is the word 'troll' and a ring symbol. If you
go past it google street view skips passed that place. What does
it mean

I presume you are referring to Shoeburyness where there is a Business Marker on Google Maps to indicate the location of Troll, a retailer of costume jewellery (thus the Ring icon). Unfortunately the marker is misplaced since the High Street address is actually 4 miles away in Southend-on-Sea.

When you try to view the incorrect "Troll" via Smith Street you find that about 50 metres of the road has not been photographed for Street View and it is this missing section which is the cause of the described "skip".

Just to add, if you had double clicked on the ring (and most other symbols on google earth) it would have told you what it was
