I remember reading on this site several months ago that lots of you recommended not changing from IE7 to IE 8. I was happy with that, on the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' principle, but I'm now finding my Internet connection very sluggish, particularly on certain sites, and wonder if the situation is still the same? If I do download IE8, are there any problems I should look out for? Or would you stick with IE7 if you were me?

As Society has effectively indicated, most of the 'regulars' here in AB's Technology section probably know very little about any version of IE, since most of us wouldn't touch it with the proverbial bargepole. (I've got IE6 on my PC. I see no point in 'upgrading' it because I don't use it. Internet Explorer is, like nearly all Microsoft products, the worst available option).

Ditch IE and use a decent browser. The most popular choice around here is Firefox (which I use), but Chrome and Opera also have their fans.

I haven't done it yet, Entranced. I was worried about possible complications - incompatibility, mainly - so I'm waiting for a few days until I have nothing urgent, in case it goes wrong.
