Viewing an item which has ended on eBay

I know it it is possible to view an item which has recently ended on eBay but is it possible to view an item which ended a year ago? i know the item number and the seller but now just want to view the item description.

All you can do is put the item number in the search box, if it's still listed it'll come up. I have looked for old sells and buys and after a while they seem to drop off and are no longer available. Alternatively go into Community (top right) and there is a box where you can search for a seller, then look at what they have for sale - but not sure if you can see old items they sold. You can also "contact seller" but I'm not sure how you do it if they no longer have live listings.
If you are an eBay member yourself you can send a message to eBay through the site asking this question, I find they get back to you quite quickly.

I believe that item listing details are expunged after 3 months.
