Still got a problem with AB

On this site only when I click on a new question,etc. I get this standard screen:


" Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

When I click the back arrow it then shows up OK. Does that make sense?

The Ed. suggesting clearing caches, which I have to no avail.

I think it might have something to do with IE itself as I used to have the same problem till I switched to Firefox.

I don't know if this will help at all, Lottie, but when you click on the heading of the question, instead of using the LEFT click, try a RIGHT click and then select OPEN in the panel which appears.
See how you go?

Thanks Wak. Tried your suggestion and it works. Isn't it difficult though changing to different ways? I have to think so hard to make my fingers do different things!!

I may have asked before, but what version of IE are you running?

It is odd that Wak's solution should work.

I am using I.E.7 and the links work most of the time.
I think it might have something to do with the security settings or the anti virus and the firewall are a bit slow on the uptake, consequently the link gives up and advises No Connection.
Then again, I could be wrong!

I hate to sound like a broken record, but you'll all have an easier time on AB (and the web in general) with a newer browser:

IE 8 http://www.microsoft..../worldwide-sites.aspx

Firefox http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

Chrome http://www.google.com/chrome?hl=en-GB

We no longer support IE6 and IE7 has many, many problems when it comes to compatibility.

heehee, so it's not AB that has the compatibility problems with IE, then... see, if only Bill Gates had consulted the Ed first, this would never have happened.

Yes there is Lottie. I think I've solved your problem.
While in AB, go to TOOLS, Pop-up blocker and select "Allow Pop-ups from this site".
This has just worked for my IE.7.
