G-Mail and Youtube

Do they *have* to be intrinsically linked ?
I tried to open an alternative Youtube acct (over and above my existing one)
and it totally messed up my e-mail. I've sorted it out now luckily and everything
seems intact and back to normal.
The only way round this afaics is to use a different browser for the differen t
account.
Any advice for an alternative/simpler method would be gratefully received.

While Youtube and Gmail are, of course, owned by the same company, I'm also confused by your question, AP.
You don't need a Gmail account to open a Youtube account. If (for some reason that I can't fathom) you're having problems with your Gmail account, simply open a new email account with a different provider.

LOL @ the smiley face thing.
I do that all the time here to *try* and make it known that what I said wasn't meant to be taken too seriously/literally - it usually doesn't work because the person objecting is one of those sorts that *want * to get angry. AB/CB seems to attract them.
OMG, I hope I'm not one :-O
