Up until recently for many years i had the virgin broadband L upto 10mb package, and apart from the occasional problem was very happy, but because having another pc in a different room i decided to go for the XXL upto 50mb package, with this an engineer came out and installed a new superhub modem/router, what a load of s***. Yes we can get the internet on the other pc and downloading is amazing, the problem is that on any one session you can lose the internet connection many times, i thought this maybe a virus on the main computer but it is also happening on the second pc so have ruled this out, does anyone have this same problem? and is there anything i could try before getting in touch with virgin, who are problably only going to say its a pc problem. thanks.
We had a very tenuous Virgin broadband and often days with no connection at all. It said in the local paper it was due to people doing large downloads. In the end we left them.
I have and have had for the last 12 months exactly the same problem with Virgin- it disconnects on a regular basis which is really annoying and you have to constantly be resetting the router. You get SFA help if you call them, they just keep telling you that it's your filter ( How many times must one man change his filter do you suppose before they rule it out- I'm on about #7???). Really cr4p company with a really cr4p product.
I have Virgin Broadband XL and a NetGear router provided by them.We run the desktop, and two laptops from it.Never had a problem.
Also have always found them very helpful when I hve needed help
