over sensitive laptop front...

the whole of the front of my lap top is very sensitive an when typing if i brush any part of it with my arm or clothing the cursor moves about and i end up typing in the middle of the rest of the test...its driving me mad

why is this an can i change it?

i have a compaq presario f500 and im on win7

Go into pointing device properties and change the touch sensitivity setting to coarse/low on the slider.

thanks albags, but i cant seem to find that option in my mouse settings etc.
it has cursor soeed, doubleclick options etc , but no sensitivity

am i looking in the wrong place?

Install the synaptics drivers for the touchpad and then you'll have the correct options in the control panel.
