mobile phones vs landlines for a family

am coming to a situation where we will be moving to a new house, apart from internet access .....wouldn't two mobile phones work better than a single land line for the family....anyone doing this already

When I first moved into my own house, i didn't have a landline, just a mobile as I couldn't see the point in spending loads in line rental when I had a contract mobile phone with free minutes.

The only problem I came across were people who refused to ring me because 'it costs a fortune to ring you on your mobile'.  Others would let my phone ring once and then hope that I would call them back so they didn't pay for the call.

I have now got a landline mainly for internet access, not so stingy mates can ring me!
