Locking a computer??
17 Answers
Is there anyway I can lock my computer from 2am til 8am without unplugging or turning off. the reason is my daughter is on it almost all night then won't get up in the morning. So she would only plug it back in or turn it on. She is an adult but I think it's getting ridiculous, she is chatting to her friends all night!

So if you set a password for your account in control panel > users and then you can lock it as above and just do another CTRL + ALT + Delete and enter the password to unlock it.
if you don't set a password even if you find/use a third party program to lock the computer all she'll have to do is switch it off and on again.

I know how you can do it ..
Assuming you have a router ..put a socket timer on the power socket for that (cable through the wall maybe) It will shut router power off at 2am and no internet connection available after that .. but PC operational and unharmed by any power interruption. That will stop it.
