I'm having no luck!!!

As in a previous post I'm still trying to d/l some taped music using Audacity onto my pc but the waveform on the time line is "thick" but shows very little variation in pitch,any ideas please?? Thanks!!

Yes I did check the input levels and it does play back ok.I'll ,try zooming in and I'll also have a look at the manual Thanks!!!!!!
