nokia X6 pinging/beeping randomly

My brother has a Nokia X6 which just beeps/pings randomly but we don't know what it is or why it is doing it. It does it at all times of the day and night even when the phone is in a different room.
Could anyone shed any light on why it is doing this and what it is for?

Most phones give out periodic beeps when the battery is getting low. Perhaps it needs charging (or the battery is 'on the way out')?

I have an X6 and the only times it makes noises are when the battery is running out, or when I get text or an email - does he have his email account(s) synched into the phone? Try going into settings and seeing what he has alerts set up for.

Is it connected to a blue tooth device in the car? When I forget to disconnect my blue tooth properly my phone beeps as it tries to reconnect
