click Start button, Control panel. Sounds and Audio devices. Click Volume tab from pop up window and if Device Volume slider bar is OK click Advanced and untick all that are muted. Hope this helps

did they used to work ? have u re-insalled stuff recently ? maybe drivers need re-installing for sound - i know mine do
