upgrade from portable cd player to mp3 player or ipod.

I want to replace my portable cd player with either a mp3 player or an ipod.
Downloaded music is the only priority, not bothered about games, internet,videos or radio.
I believe I need 4GB.
Is there anything in the £40 -- £60 range that any ab'ers can recommend ?

I think that 4GB MP3 players are a lot cheaper
than IPods and are more portable

Archos are good, as are Sony. But your budget seems a bit OTT for 4GB. A 4GB Archos will set you back around 22 squiddlies.

Sansa clip £30 from amazon, mp3 player plus radio. I use mine everyday walking to work. It's brilliant.
