toshiba laptop satellite a100 - lost xp discs with drivers

my sister lost the disc that came with the laptop - containing the WIndews xp software and the drivers.
Had to rebuild the laptop, the Toshiba has no drivers for sound.
Anyone know (please) of a reliable place (without virus introductions) that i can get the drivers ?

Have you been to the Toshiba web site to see if they are still available? You could download a free program called Driver Easy which should locate your drivers for you.

Its under Satelite but I don't know which specific model a100 that you have.

There are six Windows XP Setup boot floppy disks. You must have the files and the drivers that these disks contain to access the CD-ROM drive and to start the Setup process. Create the Setup disks When you download the Setup disks, the download contains only one large program file. When you run the downloaded file, it extracts the files. You receive the following prompt: This program creates the Setup boot disks for Microsoft Windows XP. To create these disks, you need to provide 6 blank, formatted, high-density disks.

No idea what screien is on about seeing as the question didn't mention anything about making boot disks (and the boot floppies are only required if your computer was originally on the arc!)

The first place to look for drivers is always the manufacturers website as in cowtippers link.

Here is the official Toshiba download link, cut and paste it.... http://uk.computers.t...s_bios.jsp?service=UK .......The A100 is under Satellite Pro family and Product Series Satellite Pro A Series, then select your specific model number. I would get all the drivers from here even if XP has installed its own generic drivers. Hope that helps you
