... I had to have my computer overhauled, which involved a complete clean-out of my hard drive. I have since been reloading all my programs. However, I have discovered that certain things are missing. For instance, I have just been trying to look up bus timetables here in Hastings. While I can get the general timetable site, I cannot get the details; When I click on the bus concerned, I keep getting told "Windows cannot load this file". Why not? Is there something I need to load to rectify this? Also, I posted a couple of days ago about not being able to see the text on certain sites. Obviously, there was something on the hard drive that isn't there anymore. Can anyone tell me what it is?

you're probably missing a PDF reader.

Adobe reader is the well known one, but foxit reader is just as good, far lighter weight and also totally free.

Chuck, thank you. But that missing text remains just that. Missing.
as it's on a website...

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

But not having flash doesn't normally cause a "Windows cannot load this file" .... Also Is there any more to the error message, such as a file name?

Do you get the problem anywhere else other than the bus timetable, if so where?
