the calendar on my wiidows sidebar has stopped showing the date, any suggestions on how to fix the problem, thanks.

Try this:

1) Open Elevated Command Prompt (type cmd into the widows search bar)

2) Type regsvr32.exe vbscript.dll and press Enter key

3) You will notice a dialog box showing the message DllRegisterServer in vbscript.dll succeeded as shown in above figure.

4) Click OK button in the dialog box.

5) Restart your computer

just right click on the sidebar, select add a gadget, and redo it
Check to see if the time and day and date is correct in the RH corner if this wrong then you have to replace your cmos battery in the motherboard of which you will need a CR2032 battery.

The date and time in the RH corner are correct galeck, just the sidebar calendar that won't work.

Postdog I have done that but still not getting dates.
Try this:

Thanks mungbeanz for your detailed reply, I typed cmd in windows search bar but it is only coming up with with windows command processor listing money transactions that I have made, I cannot see where to type step 2, sorry I am not very technical :(

At last mungbeanz, I managed to follow your instructions and I now have the sidebar calendar up and running again, thank very much, you were spot on.
