There's no on/off switch on my BT home hub. If I unplug it is it likely to cause problems when I reconnect? I'm assuming that it should be off in the event of lightning storms.

I've never bothered unplugging any router, they are designed to be left on all the time.

If you do want to unplug it then there won't be any problems, it will all come back as it was a few minutes after turning it off.
*few minutes after turning it on again.
Causes neither me nor Big Sis any problems when we disconnect our home hubs ☺
