searching engines really slow

every time i search on a search engine google or ask whatever it takes a really long time to come up when i press enter or the button, and then suddenly after about 8 seconds it comes up other than that i can browse the internet quickly and pages load up fine, i have a 750 k/b connection, i think it could be spyware which may be causing this but any help would be appreciated

download ad-aware its free as u only get the trial version but this program really works

Microsoft's Anti-Spyware Beta is also worth a look. Also, if you're using Internet Explorer, try switching to an alternative, like Mozilla Firefox.
