Virus?

I use hotmail as my main email account but recently I have had "error on page" messagess nearly 80% of the time. This can happen when I look at emails, or try to reply, sometimes when I forward messages. It is getting really annoying now! Has anyone else had this or could it be a virus on my computer? Today I tried to send a picture to a friend through messenger but he said that his messenger was detecting a virus.. I think my anti-virus is all up to date and i've run a system scan and also ran adaware. What else can I do?

A new virus called Serflog worm was released about 10 days and is passed on through Messenger by infected machines. The symptoms are identical to those you describe with the added problem that it completely disables system restore.
