Freeview HD with 1080p

My tv is on the blink, so I'm looking to buy a new one and there are 2 which I fancy:

One is a Samsung for which there are a number of online reviews (most rating it as excellent picture quality) but it has only ordinary Freeview.

The other is a JVC for which I can't find any reviews but it does include a Freeview HD tuner.

Both are 1080p. I was wondering if anyone with Freeview HD has an opinion on whether the picture quality is noticeably/significantly better on HD than the ordinary Freeview channels.

TIA

With a good display .. yes! That display is pretty good.
You won't be able to record it tho ..
I'd buy a standalone Freeview HD PVR like a Humax.

Thanks, AlBags.

p.s. there's never anything on that I feel the least bit inclined to record and so have managed without any type of recorder for years.
Buy the HDF then : )
Saves plugging up loads of other cables, too.
Personally I'd go for a samsung over a JVC and get an external tuner, even if you don't want to record IMO samsung are better panels (I would say that though, I have one)
I tend to agree .. but for the sake of tidiness and ease of use .......
i agree with albags
get a humax hd pvr either freesat hd or freeview hd version i have a freeview hd one
some superb docs in hd, pictures excellent nothing like standard at all
