Hi Chuck,you recently helped to sort out a prob re-formatting my ext H/D to FAT 32,this is now ok but when I try to copy from my Humax Freesat box I am still not able to. The ext H/D is accepted & I am following the instructions in the User's Manual ie - Connect Ext Device to the recorder (USB) < in Media List < Press Opt+ <Select File Manager < Press Opt+while cursor is in Right column to switch the device,Select the device & press OK button. Then in File Manager ,Select the file to copy & press the Green Button, Green Button appears to be inactive. I am hoping that you can possibly help me to move on with this as around my fav chair the floor is covered with torn out hair.TIA Ron.

Not really my area this... but from a quick look it seems you can't just copy straight onto the drive, you need to create a folder on the drive and select that on the right to copy the program into that folder.

Thank you for your quick reply Chuck,even using folder does not appear to work. I am going to attempt to send pic of page from User's Manual wish me luck.Ron.

I'm making a guess here, so bear with me...
Are you by any chance selecting the external device rather than the internal one?
The green button won't be enabled until you actually highlight a file on the internal drive
