pc freezing

am running vista business on lenovo think centre.Lately it is freezing .Only warning is one quick bleep then everything freezes. No set pattern sometimes freezes within minutes of logging on other times maybe after an hours surfing.Thanks in advance

should also add that it unfreezes itself . again no set pattern anything from three minutes to thirty minutes

This could be a hardware related issue sounds like it could be a faulty ram chip .If you have two installed I would remove one and restart your computer if it is the faulty one then it will restart with the remaining one so you should replace this one.As this is an intermittent problem you will have to perservere untill you find the culprit.I dont thik it is heat related as you state it happens when the system is cold.
