wireless routers

what is the best router to get for a very good
signal,as i can get a signal upstairs on my laptop
but i got a new desk top installed up stairs and it
is only showing on one bar signal.can anyone advise
what other router to get.

Get an "N" router (as opposed to "G" router) as they give out stronger signals.

However your laptop and other devices will also have to be "N" to take advantage of it.

Get an extension lead for the antenna on the desktop wireless card, tucked down the back of a metal case is about the worst place you can have a wireless antenna!

Or... Ideally... don't use wireless on a desktop, it's inferior to wired in every single way.
