Please state at least what version of windows you are running when asking questions like this!

either douple click the clock in the bottom right (XP) or single click it and select adjust date and time (later versions of windows)

thanks chuckFickens. I have done this but i have problems when using my tax assistant software and have to change date from today to 2 days ahead. Cant remember how to restore the corrrect date.

Am i making sense?
You're still not saying what version of windows it is!

But open the date and time adjustment thingy (that's the technical name) and click on the date you want to set it to and click ok.
If your accounting software is hosted on a server the date will not depend on the client date and time and you may not have permission to change the server date and time settings yourself.

Am I making sense?
"Am i making sense? " errrr no

could it be that the BIOS date needs resetting ?
to check
reboot your machine and as it powers up keep pressing the delete key to get into your BIOS.

you should see Date and time in there somewhere, usually on the first screen
"Am i making sense? " errrr no

sorry, please ignore that, for some stupid reason I though that was from the OP
