help needed to run photo slide show

I have burned about 100 photos to a disc in the order that i want to show them in a slideshow using a projector onto a large screen, my problem is when I show the photos they run in a random order not the order that I want them too, how can i overcome this problem. its the same when i run them on my pc, random not the correct order. thanks for any help with my problem.

before burning them onto a disc I renamed them all 'party' and they came up as 'party1', 2, 3 etc in the correct order but when I run a slideshow it is random.

I think you are just burning them into a folder and then playing them back with slideshow software? The order will not work as they will never play in the order you intended.
If you use IrfanView (the king of photo-viewing software) there is a slideshow creator included. It can generate a slideshow file to be played back at will. You could burn these files to different folders on a disc.

Easier for poster to use than anything else .. and it is great for using as a standard picture viewer.

i've downloaded and used the irfanview programme but still have the same problem ... didn't think it would such a pain in the arse as this ... any other suggestions please, thanks.

Some versions of Windows have a program called DVD Maker. Try that.

You are not using IrfanView correctly!
It will play a compiled slideshow/screensaver in the order that you built it.
I have used it to do this several times.
Set the pictures up in order and save as a screensaver file.
